The dosing rules

• Take only the dose written on your label.
• One tablet in any 24-hour period. A second one does not improve anything and multiplies the risk.
• Let it dissolve under the tongue. Chewing or swallowing changes how it is absorbed.
• Never pass it to anyone else. It was prescribed against your history, not theirs.

The interaction that can genuinely hurt you

If nitrates are part of your life in any form, this medication is not for you. That is not a risk to weigh against the upside; it is a straight exclusion, and it is the single clearest reason the physician review exists.

Other things to declare

• Alpha-blockers, often given for blood pressure or prostate symptoms, can compound the drop in pressure.
• Any blood-pressure medication needs weighing alongside this one.
• Certain antifungals and antibiotics slow the breakdown of the drug and push levels higher than intended.
• Some HIV medications do the same thing.
• Other ED treatments — never run two PDE5 inhibitors together.

Include supplements and anything recreational. A physician can only screen against what is in front of them.

Who should not use HardRx

It is inappropriate for men who take nitrates in any form, who have severe heart disease, whose blood pressure runs very low, or who have reacted badly to sildenafil or tadalafil before.

Cardiac history carries weight beyond the drug interaction, because sex is itself exertion. This list is not exhaustive, which is precisely why a person rather than a checkbox reviews your case.

Side effects you might actually notice

Most are the medication's intended effect turning up somewhere unwelcome — vessels widening in your head produces a headache, in your face a flush, in your nose congestion. Dizziness follows the small drop in blood pressure. Indigestion and lower back ache round out the common list, the latter reported a little more often with tadalafil.

They are usually mild and usually short. Anything severe, persistent or frightening means stopping and speaking to a healthcare professional.

Storing it sensibly

• Follow the storage instructions on your label; keep it away from heat and damp.
• Out of reach of children and animals.
• Do not use anything past its expiry date.
• Do not use a tablet if the packaging looks tampered with.

Keep your own doctor informed

Erectile difficulty often shows up before a cardiovascular or metabolic problem announces itself more loudly, because narrow vessels cause trouble in small places first. Treating the symptom through telehealth is convenient and reasonable. Treating it instead of investigating the cause is a gamble.
